Hello again

Wow I am so not good at this :) I haven't posted anything for an entire year. This has been a wonderful year full of growth and learning.:

Emmaline Kate was born on June 26, 2009

I was scheduled for a c section but she decided to come early which I was so excited about. I had the wonderful experience of the beginning part of labor and my water breaking. Call me weird but I was excited. Everything went perfectly and she came out healthy and lovely <3

She is now 10 months old and such a joy! She is very funny and energetic and has an opinion about EVERYTHING. She definitely keeps me on my toes. We all adore her!

This month she has started crawling, has gotten 4 teeth, pulls herself up to standing, and let's her thoughts be known. I do not know where time has gone this year but I find myself staring at my children and trying to memorize everything about them before it changes again. They are such a blessing!

Ellie turns 4!

I can't believe it was 4 years ago that a doctor handed me the most beautiful baby girl I had ever seen. Ellie has been a bundle of joy from day one and we love watching her grow into the young lady God has created her to be. She is full of personality! I thought it would be fun to list a few things that describe Ellie at this point in her life so I can look back and remember her as a little girl.


1. Ellie loves yogurt. Seriously she asks for it at every meal!

2. She adores Jacob. She hates to be without him even for a few hours and the worst punishment I can give them is be in their rooms alone.

3. She loves books and asks me to read to her all day. She especially loves princess books and books with stickers or animals.

4. She loves Benny to the point of torturing him.

5. She has a difficult time walking, running or doing anything that requires motor skills. Not sure why but it may be because her mom is the same way :)

6. She was avid thumb sucker until a few months ago when Shad finally put that yucky tasting nail polish on her. That was it. Four years of sucking was over in a day.

7. She wants to be a boxer when she grows up. Yes, a boxer. If you ask her about it she says she'll box you right up :)

8. She loves to sing and is quite outgoing about it although it seems she has inherited Shad's musical abilities....

9. Her favorite activity is to go on a daddy date with Shad to the "girl store".

10. Peter Pan and Black Beauty are her favorite movies

11. She makes the best "mad face" and "surprised face".


That's all I can think of right now but maybe I'll add some later.



For her birthday this year we went to Disneyland which was a big deal since we don't have passes and haven't gone since the kids were babies. It was a crazy and memorable day!

Easter 2009

So I decided to finally get back on here and add a few posts :) The Rogers family had a wonderful Easter this year! We felt really blessed to spend time with both Shad's family and mine and also had a great time at our new church, Mariners Beachside. The kids did 4 egg hunts throughout the day and ate nothing but sugar. It was just as it should be. I was thinking a lot about how next Easter we would have three baskets to fill. Wow, it's hard to believe Emma will be here in less than 9 weeks. We are thrilled!

Halloween 2008

Benny the skunk! So appropriate.

I know, I'm so behind here but this was our Halloween :) We had fun hanging out at home and trick or treating around the neighborhood then barbequing and passing out candy. Very low key. We loved it!

P.S.

Before I sign out for the day I should mention to all who don't know that Shad and I are going to be parents again :) We are so excited to be having our third little one who will be due July 5! Yay!

Benny

Our one pound dog :)

So a couple months ago we were blessed with a one year old Teacup Yorkie named Benny. My brother Ben was not thrilled with the name :) but he'll get over it. A good friend couldn't take care of him so she gave him to us and we LOVE him. He's so fun and energetic but he'll sit and cuddle for hours too. I could do without the potty training but he's worth it. The kids think he's thier own toy to drag around and he just goes with the flow. We think he's the perfect dog for us.
