Tuesday night Jake recieved his award for participating in Cubbies this year. It was really cute seeing all the proud kids and parents. Jake and Ellie had a hard time sitting through the ceremony, ok so did Shad and I. It was kind of boring but it was fun to honor the kids for all their hard work! This year the cubbies memorized over 30 bible verses which is pretty impressive.
After the awards the kids did a little performance of Jana Alayra's "Jump into the Light". Here is Jake standing with his back to the audience during the show :) He also sat on the stage and then right in the front and played with his award. I'm thinking show biz will not be for him! It was so funny.
We snuck out after Jake sang and went for ice cream downtown. Tuesday nights are street fair nights down there which was super fun. Ellie went sugar high crazy and danced to one of the street performers. She might have a future in show biz :) That little girl gets the craziest after sugar! Shad and I were reminising about when she was probably one and we gave her some cinnabon popcorn. She ran around like mad and started running into the wall. Then we put her to bed and she stayed up talking to herself for like 2 hours.
We let the kids pick their coldstone flavors. Jake wanted vanilla with gummy bears and ellie wanted strawberry with white chocolate chips. Poor Ellie had to share with mommy and daddy because neither of us was too into the gummy bear concoction. yuck.
