So we had a wonderful party at our home on Sunday to celebrate Ellie's 3rd birthday. It was a great time with family and friends as we ate out on the grass in our front "yard". It ended up being a beautiful day, much to my relief, and we had plenty of food, much to my relief! One thing I was really proud of were my cupcakes. I made the icing from scratch and had a blast decorating them! If you know me, you know this is not something I would normally try but I was really glad I did. We had a boce tournament, squirt guns and scooter riding for the kids, and did I mention lots of food? I am so thankful that God has allowed us to raise a daughter that is so fun and full of life and can't believe how fast she is growing up! It seems like yesterday I saw her for the first time. I thought she was gorgeous and was amazed at this perfect, tiny person . I'm still amazed every day as she displays more and more of a personality and I wonder who she will become. I only pray that I can be the kind of mom that allows her to become the person God created her to be. The kind of mom that shows unconditional love, is patient and kind, creates a warm home, and turns to God every day with every issue, every prayer request, every fear, every praise, and every sin that needs forgiveness. I want to see her mimic me someday and be proud!
