Memorial Day

This tree was hollowed out- So cool!

Bird Watching

Today we had a very fun family outing to Wrightwood for some hiking. First we had lunch at a very cute little restaurant called the Grizzly Cafe. There were moose and deer heads on the walls and the best part was that one of the moose heads sang and moved around. I found it a little creepy but the kids loved it. After lunch we drove up the mountain a bit and found a great little spot for hiking. There was still some snow on the ground so the kids got to make snow balls but the weather was really nice. The kids spent the day pretending to be beavers. Here the kids are hiking up a small ravine. It was really nice to see the kids using their imaginations and getting plenty of excercise. Jake said it was a beautiful day and Ellie said she liked picking flowers and throwing snow at the trees. Shad felt like a dad driving a minivan and had a wonderful day out of the office. It was a great day outdoors and then we even got to see the movie Horton Hears a Who. Yay for holidays!

Looks like this will be one of those "best days" in family memories. A fun adventure:)
