Jake

Today I have been noticing how grown up Jake is! He just got his own room and he loves how old he feels in it. He keeps telling Ellie the rules in his room. He has started picking up his toys and dressing himself first thing in the morning. He gets drinks for himself, brushes his own teeth, "reads" to himself, and plays wonderfully by himself. I love this stage! Then every once in a while I get a little sad looking at this handsome young man because I realize this special time at home with him is almost over. He starts junior kindergarden in the fall along with AYSO soccer and who knows what else. We will have parent teacher conferences, school plays, weekend games.... it's a little overwhelming. I am so excited to watch him grow and learn but I won't take these next couple of months and years forgranted! I am quite aware that it will feel like no time at all before he's off to high school and then college and then he'll be getting married... Oh man, I better stop before I cry :)
